Ivey's Baccarat Edge Sorting Case with Crockfords

Professional Gambler's Tips

Three Tips from a Professional Gambler is base on quotes taken from Ivey versus Crockfords. Phil Ivey sued London casino Crockfords Club for denying him £7.7m which he won in 20-21 August 2012. The casino withheld the money on the grounds that Ivey cheated.

Ivey and Kelly

Edge Sorting

Ivey used a system known as edge sorting to win the money at the baccarat table. The casino claims that this method is not a legitimate strategy because it defeats the premise of the game to nullify the gaming contract.

Kelly Cheung

Cheung Yin Sun (Kelly) assisted Ivey to edge sort the cards by asking the dealer to turn the key cards for baccarat upside-down. The casino referred to Cheung as the unidentified woman.

Casino's Case Unsustainable

Justice Mitting was impressed by that professional conduct Ivey maintains that he said the casino's case was "plainly unsustainable". The case is still on going. At this juncture the case points favorably to Ivey.

Casinos Are Spoilsport

casino max bet

Hard Rock Casino bans Ben Affleck, Palms Resort & Casino bans Dana White, and William Hill bans a gambler because they are advantage players. These three cases will serve as an appendix to Tip 10 of my 36 Casino Gambling Tips.

Each of this case has it merit. William Hill's case is the best reflection of a spoilsport. Dana White's show the casinos are not risk takers. Aflleck's fame would certainly bring more exposure to the casino's cowardice.

Enhancement to Website

I will be doing some enhancement to my website this month. I start learning html as I built the 36 Casino Gambling Tips. I was not able to address some of the minor problems along the way. I am allocating this month to attend to the minor fixes.

The first on the list is to get Internet Explorer to render the dropdown navigation menu correctly. This problem had bugged me since I started using it in July 2013. I managed to fix the problem now. It can work on Internet Explorer version 8 but version 7 had some inconsistencies. I am unable to fix it for Version 6. I guess by the time I look up how to fix the problem, Version 6 would have been phased out. Most people would have upgraded to Version 10 which is the latest version at the moment.

Beginner's Luck Turns Suicidal

Portrait of Hayley Ringrose

Hayley Ringrose' story had enable me to pinpoint gambling pitfalls such as

That is 4 out of 6 pitfalls mention on Lethal Habits. I think the other two would be applicable too from her mention of being out of control.

I believe Ringrose was honest with her confession because she wanted to help others who are going through the same thing by telling her story. Now she is lobbying to tighten rules for online gambling.

The Rotten Gamblers

The term "landu" was instantly appealing and memorable to me ever since +guerrilla gamblers introduced it on his blog. I often had the inclination to use it and finally decided to list it out as "rotten gambler" in my terminologies page.

It will be used to describe a person who is preoccupied with gambling but not necessary classified as a gambling addict or a pathologically disordered gambler under the American Psychiatric Association's guidelines. Gamblers who are rotten to the core will think about nothing but gambling.

Redirected Sites

Since my presence on the internet had exceed a year, I decided to update my sitemap and resubmit to google. I went to the sitemap maker recommended by google to get a copy of my sitemap. I was shock to find that I had a broken link. I went through all the links one by one and found that a link was taken off. This was very scary because the source I used as a reference was gone. Fortunately I managed to google up an alternate.

This still did not solve my broken link problem because the site was redirected to the home page. Redirected site are not considered broken links. Anyway, I eventually found my broken link and rectify the situation but that was not the point. The idea was sites could be removed by the webmaster and you would be left hanging without a source. News especially will run out of space and had a high tendency to remove some old pages.

It then occurred to me that other sites may also be taken down after some time. After some thought I came up with a solution. I decided to do a screen capture of the source. The do a cut and pate of the entire page. If I get disappearing site in future I would just refer it back to my own site showing the screen capture and the cut and paste text.

+xingcai you may want to take note of this since you are commenting on news.

Borgata Sues Phil Ivey $9.8 million

Borgata versus Phil Ivey

I noted previously that the media had started to twist Ivey's words. Soon they will begin to assassinate his character. Ivey is such a generous person who would spend money he earned on charity drives, just need to start playing hard ball with those that tried to push him around.

In my research on Ivey, I discovered that he had a net win of £9 million from baccarat alone. The other casinos with a share of contributing to the winning will soon join Borgata to sue Ivey for "fraudulent winnings".

As this issue gets to the legal arena, interpretation of the law and mutating of words will be the name of the game. I tried to look at keys that would affect this case.
