I was shock to find that I had a broken link. I went through all the links one by one and found that a link was taken off. This was very scary because the source I used as a reference was gone. Fortunately I managed to google up an alternate.
This still did not solve my broken link problem because the site was redirected to the home page. Redirected site are not considered broken links. Anyway, I eventually found my broken link and rectify the situation but that was not the point. The idea was sites could be removed by the webmaster and you would be left hanging without a source. News especially will run out of space and had a high tendency to remove some old pages.
It then occurred to me that other sites may also be taken down after some time. After some thought I came up with a solution. I decided to do a screen capture of the source. The do a cut and pate of the entire page. If I get disappearing site in future I would just refer it back to my own site showing the screen capture and the cut and paste text.
